Hi all,

We are in the process of swapping out the old rad for a newer fletcher.

The old rad had a temp sensor at the bottom and the new fletcher doesn't.

We assume therefore that its not needed but some comments on the t'internet mention a fan switch but maybe this is for injection engines?

Any pointers would be useful. I did try and find a fletcher website but there doesn't seem to be one which is odd. There is a fletchers in Ireland who are plumbers so came up when I searched for rads which is funny!

Sounds like you have bought a standard rad equivalent. You need the SPi rad.

look on the MiniSpares web page.

Fletcher is just a brand put onto stuff from China. Interesting quality and fitment.

the rad sensor would typically be used to switch an electric fan.  if you don't have the fan, then you shouldn't need the sensor

On my 1993 car, I don't use the radiator switch, I have the auxiliary fan on a switch on the dash

Hi all,

We have purchased a 90°C / 195°F 12V Radiator Fan Switch M14x1.5 Temp Thermal Sensor.

However, it seems to be slightly too snug for the fletcher rad. We are wary to force it and wanted to check with you all that this will be fine and to not have to swap it for a smaller M12 maybe? Cant seem to find any M12 online so can only think M14 is the correct one and we just need to be braver with fitting it!

Anyone else have similar issues?

Thanks
