About 25 years ago, I bought a decrepit Mini Jem.  I was in a busy job so I sent the mechanical work to the Mini Car Clinic in Sydney and the body work to a local panel beater who, it turns out, was on the verge of bancruptcy.  The mechanical work was done to a high standard as was the bodywork and painting as far as it went.  Getting wind of the impending problems I took the car away and put it into storage and only recommenced work last year after finishing my Lotus Europa and Matra Murena first!  Of course, my family have always been after me to finish 'that cute little mini'.  There were about 13 Jems built in Adelaide but my car came originally from England and the documentation which came with it claims that the car was the 1967 British autocross champion.

The engine appears to be a 1275 engine from an 1100 S and the wiring loom comes from an unknown source.   I will be posing questions about various issues in due course.

regards

what smashing project after all that time, looks like its going to be a lovely car, the other car you mention the Lotus bread van is one of my all time favourites.
