My gear stick seems rather sloppy.

What's causing the inaccuracy?

Do I need a new gear lever or eye rod extension yoke or both?

This is a video of the second gear being engaged.

Rod change?

If yes, I would suggest to check the two rubber cotton reels holding the gear change housing to the tunnel. They may be gone. New ones are harder and this may solve or correct the issue.

There's many parts in the system that wear and all add together to make the shift sloppy.

A few more common bits to go are, as Giles mentioned above ^, the mounts. As well as these, the Roll Pins and Coupling at the back of the Gearbox also wear badly.

Looking at your video, the slot on the side of the Gearstick, down on the larger ball is worn. You can overcome that by replacing the Gearstick or you can weld around the slot and grind the slot back in.
