PCD100160 or GRC1184? Both seem to be spec'ed as suitable on Fleabay.

PCD100160 looks like a later part from its part number format (post '95?).

GRC1184:

PCD100160:

Dieter Koennecke discusses it in the MG(T)F space here:

MGF MGTF Coolant Expansion tank and cap (mgfcar.de)

"They just reworked the tooling and put a white dot on the correct made parts."

Has anyone any experience with the difference?

In my experience, it's worth paying the extra for the BMW (Blue seal) ones.

I've bought too many cheap ones from EBay which haven't held the pressure.

BWM Blue seal?

I would be grateful if you could link an example, none are jumping out at me when I google it.

Best I could find. The cap OEM number is 17107515499, but the link is for a pattern one. Best go to a MINI Centre.

A bit late to this particular party but I too needed a decent cap for my '97 MPi and after following the links above and having a bit of a search on the web, I decided to to try BMW. Yeah I know, a bit rash, right?

Actually, no. I got one under exactly that part number (17107515499) from Dick Lovett MINI in Melksham for the princely sum of £16.67, inc VAT!

Seems the Bay of Evil wasn't the best option in this (rare!) case!
