i've found that the on body ones seem to leak after a while, the best one was my phoneix one- but it went curly after petrol leak into boot. Also had new boot lid fitted after got crunched from behind , and ended up with the one  with the holes - so wondering if they have helped the leak in the heavy rain recently... just fed up with water in boot , so trying anything

ok attempt to and I got seal fitted- the trick was ditching the bendy and slightly too big clips from minispares, and using the cheaper ones. from ebay

I found the Minispares clips quite easy to insert on my 72 mini - you just had to fit them to the rubber then compress them before pushing them in.
New seal still leaked in the rain though, so it was all in vain anyway ;)

Tried a different set of clips - got rubber on - but still getting water in .... removed and put the old seal back , which seemed to have got some of its form back - boot was really hard to close and no water got in ..... but then as old seal loosend up , back it came !!!

I have bought a self adhesive seal from phoenix to go over the holes on the boot lid - but don't nwant tro fit it whern it may rain or be cold .

But also wondering - could the water be getting in through the boot handle mechanism ? Should this be full of grease ? Mine isnt at it looks like  a weak point to me !

Assume you have got the rubber seal behind the boot lid handle so it shouldn't leak.....?

This one:

The grease can't hut but not sure it does anything other than to stop the handle seizing (especially if water is getting in)?
