Just noticed the D+ wire on the alternator has snapped at the terminal but the car still seems to be fine.
What does the D+ wire actually do?

Normally the D+ is associated to the charge warning light.

Thanks. I figured as much as there's no battery light showing on the dash but I wondered if it did anything else?

Without it the alternator may not charge and you might not know until stranded.Steve..
