Hi all,
Can anyone help me out and measure the scuttle height, in the middle, to another part of the bulkhead?
Mine is too high in the middle, when I installed it I think it popped up when I welded the A pillar ends.

I can't help with the measurement but be careful with measuring here as some cars like yours have a deeper dip than earlier ones.

OK, I didn't know that.
I'm thinking of grinding a slot down the middle of the scuttle, closing it up and down, to the height of the middle of the bonnet, then rewelding up the scuttle. But I'm worried I might screw it up.

What makes you think it’s too high? Is this in relation to the bonnet by chance?

So if that is the case is the bonnet a genuine one or a pattern one?

When I changed the scuttle, I put everything in place to check gaps etc. When I welded it in place I remember having to force the A pillar sides, held in place with molgrips. I didn't think anything more about it until now, rebuilding it up, checking all gaps before painting.
I cut it and welded it up this afternoon and I'm happy with it now.
