Very random question about suspension in the summer.

Only had the Mini 94 Spi since October last year and finally got the ride nice using adjustable shocks etc but just the last fees day when the temp has reached 20 degrees outside I’ve taken it out and ride seems really bounce ??

Is this a thing with minis as my heads going to perhaps the heat is effecting the rubber cones or something

Any thoughts ??

unlikely the cones or shocks, more the tyres and tar temp? Maybe your driving harder too as its time to get to the pub!

Not noticed any ride height issues here when it reaches 40C.

I have just recently noticed similar here in HK. The last few weekends have seen super hot weekends and there was a noticeable but small change in my ride feeling. I just put it down to the tyre temp getting much more and raising the pressure higher. My mini always seems quite sensitive to tyre pressure

Your shocks might not be a good as they were.

Brand new shocks on it late last year.

The adjuster on them have seized so can’t adjust the shocks right now and will need to try and loosen them. Think wd40 might help with that unless anyone else has any experience with that.

Out of interest : how many clicks do people have on the Gaz shocks front and rear ??

Can still have failed.

bouncyness is controlled by the shocks and the shocks only.

if it was affecting the rubber it would make them softer. This would lower the ride height and would affect the spring rate. But the damper would then be seen as stronger. So reduce the bounyness. And could suck the suspension down. This can also happen when the dampers are set too hard.  Is the car running on the bump stops?
