Have just found a spilt gaiter on my track rod end which is the longer thread engagement Triumph type so it/they need replacing.
I seem to remember someone on here pointing out that the longer track rod ends give increased bump steer but can't find the thread.
Anyone have any further info on this?

Thanks Spider, it was the MK1 forum article I'd read.

Huh I'd never considered this! I thought they were the same part just with a longer threaded part.

Think I'll be modifying my old British Leyland track rod ends Vizard style.

Another option here if you need longer ends is to try and get a hold of the Rack Ends from an ADO16. You'd need to check those made in the UK as I'm not 100% sure of them, but our locally made (Aust) ones were the same in every way, just longer.
