Before I start, I have done a search on the site but all links are from over a decade ago.

 

I am needing to get a set of black and silver pressed metal plates made up for my 66 Mini, I'm not looking for anything fancy, dodgy or questionable with the law. But, I'm not keen on sending my original V5 away along with any other kind of identification.  When I got plates made up for my private plate on my family car, there was no need to send documents to prove I was entitled.

 

So does anybody know where I can order plates online where I won't have to send my documents away? I've no issues with emailing copies though. I've also searched Google and the results are the same

P.S. I'm not looking for hugely expensive plates, just £30 - £40 sort of things

Try searching for show plates, you don't normally need to send docs off.

I found myself in the same position a little while ago as I didn't want to send off my documents, you don't know who your sending them too so I went on eBay & purchased these show plates as it's pre 2001 it doesn't have to have all the stupid things like the plate manufacturers info & the bsau bit in the corner. These were less than £20 delivered

I used these guys for the plates for my MK2 Jag and they didn't need the docs and I was very happy with the plates.   Highly recommened.
