Hello everybody,
Ive visited this site over the past hours today and thought i might aswell join (if my crazy idea goes ahead...)
i call it crazy because i have never tried to restore a car or anything like this before but would like to jump in (sort of spk) and find out.
how this has come is i have been with my current girlfriend for the past 3 months and only found out today that her day owns a mini van, and that it is just sat at her house in the "shed"
my previous idea was to buy a vw camper and do that up but seen as this has come to my attention it has saved me alot of money, storage, tools to start with
i dont own the van yet but i will b askin him if he doesnt mind seein the old girl bein brought back to life.
anyway if this all goes ahead i will be askin LOTS AND LOTS of questions.
this looks like a really friendly forum and i hope you will all be helpful,
oh guywithvan i see you live near me and you at a stage where i think i will be head so you might get some anoyin emails off me he he just kiddin
cheers everyone and enjoy
Dave

Hello and Welcome to TMF
I joined and i didn't have a clue...(about anything really)...
But I now know that a piston is a round thing and can even use the word bulkhead in conversation
If there's anything you want to know, just ask...people on here are dead friendly
I'd love a VW splitty! ... hopefully I'll get one in years to come
Anywho, again, welcome to TMF....

im still goin throu this fourm there's loads of info!
bert no im not goin out with just for the van...... if i knew at the beginin then youd would ave been allowed to say that
beenjardo dont worry i ave no idea when it comes to engines just the change oil, airfilter, sparkplugs! lol
pooky ill try and get pics on ere in the next few days im goin to work 2nite and me cars still in the garage because i decided to chage the oil and when it came to takin the oil filter off i kinda broke the removal tool and wrecked the filter completly!! aka holes and dents.... so not a great start to workin on cars (i believe the guys at the garage did the filter up too tight wen it wen for its 2nd service last year)
anyway gonna keep lookin and gatherin info
Enjoy
Dave
(by the way i dont own the van and i need to ask permission first so it could be a no go.... but i hope i get his blessin )
