Could be wrong but I thought they were labeled 17A continuous 35A blow,or is it just my ageing memory,Steve..

It states 35 amp in my BMC series 4 Manual, and I have just had a look under the bonnet of my B reg Riley Elf and on the label round the wire in the glass tube, is printed, 35 amps, no mention of 17 amps.

you can calculate the original wire size by measuring the strand diameter and counting the number of stands, then converting that to mm2. The original size worked perfectly fine so I would use the original size.
