Hi All,

Just got an email from The LSMOC with the monthly magazine. In the email they have stated that the L to B will not take place next year so one can only assume that this year's was the last one.

Fully understand their reasons but what a great shame.

Thank you to all the Committee Members from the past to the present for organising such a great event. It will be missed.

Regards Paddy

I had a funny feeling this was going to happen after my initial hope that a Labour led local government might see sense, the local motor club posted a couple of days ago that the parking charges have been trembled, a real shame, I've always enjoyed it.

Unfortunately ULEZ is an easy cash cow for whatever political party comes in. To hell what the voter thinks as obviously all of these clowns that we vote for know far more than us.

I'm sure if Labour come into power, they will blame the previous incumbant but then say things must stay, Green policies blah blah blah.

Cynical?? maybe but i have seen this oh so often.

God forbid that the powers that be allow the people who pay their extortionate wages and fiddles galore to have a bit of enjoyment now and then ! The clowns that make these senseless charges to restric our movement as free individuals around what was once a great country want taking to task, I won't say what I really mean for fear of local stasi knocking on my door or should I say kicking it in and dragging me screaming to the place where all the dissidents are kept! Rant over.

We make these changes to “save our planet” apparently.
Restriction of movement, 20 minute cities, bans on high energy appliances, single use plastics etc etc all whilst china is dipping coal in used engine oil to burn hotter and longer.

I do like a bit of recycling, dipping coal in used engine oil eh ! I'll have to to get some Castrol 'R ' and try that , I always loved that smell, as a young carefree teenager used to put a bit of Castrol R in the petrol ! Just for the smell, lovely.

I received a penalty notice of £180 reduced to £90 if paid within 14 days for ULEZ.

I knew I had crossed it but just forgot to pay within the 3 days, called them up on day 4 and basically told tough.

£12.50 to £90 seems extortion in my eyes. I made an innocent error, tried to rectify it and got whacked with a 7 times hike in cost.

Lik i previously mentioned its a cash cow for rinsing one and all. You make a mistake, tough titty, show us your money. They are robbing Buggers plain and simple and the cash cow motorist is an easy target for these eliteist over paid wastrels.

Ill get off my soap box now.

You can register your vehicle for £10 Per year, link a credit card and it takes the fee automatically, not that I drive in the ULEZ or congestion much, but it’s cheaper than a fine.

I’ll be honest and say as much as I like London I’m glad I don’t live there.. However I’m sure all of these restrictions and charges levied against our freedoms will come to a town near us soon!
Surely there’s a better way?

I did the L2B mini run in 2011, 2012, 2014 (won the ticket to that year due to winning best photo competition lol), 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.

I didn't really enjoy the Brighton part once there, but loved the whole Crystal Palace part by having a drink and looking at minis/camping! Once all this ULEZ crap and no more CP happened it put me off.

Unfortunatley ULEZ was always going to kill the event off, shame, I had some good times back in the day.

There is also an airport in the middle od London! Every plane burns more fuel than thousends of Mini's! It's crazy that your goverment punish classic cars for that.
Shame the L2B Minirun ends. Hope there will be a similar run.
