I always remember the Timo story which happened on a rally in France.

On one long stage the fan belt broke, but Timo drove on to the end of the stage. 

At that point the engine seized up and when the bonnet was opened the heat had tuned the green paint on the block a sort-of brownish colour.

Timo's classic remark was "Car not go - engine wrong colour"!

I saw a short video the other day of Timo doing a section with the bonnet hard up against the windscreen! He just looked round the side and carried on, lol.
