Hi everybody, I know this is possibly the wrong place to ask but I seem to be locked out of the wheels & tyres forum, not sure why?

My question is pretty simple and no doubt has been asked before.  I'll make it 0.01% more interesting by asking a follow-up question.

1. What tyres did a sport pack 1999 MINI roll out of the Rover showroom with?

2. I don't like the aggressive tread pattern on the Yokohamas and I don't like the Nankang brand as it has a whiff of 'budget tyre' about it.

Yokos and Nankangs seem to be all that's on offer.  My car has one yoko, 2 Contintentals and one Dunlop.

So what is original? can you still get them? where from?

What a shame.  Are there any other premium brands available in the right size?

Just looked at their catalogue and it's not good news.  The smallest tyres they sell are for 14-inch rims: Choose your car tyres based on size | Pirelli

I like the Yokohama tyres for being a good brand.  I just think the tread pattern is very aggressive looking.  You can see a lot of tyre on cars with the 8x13 wheels and the diamond pattern tread catches the eye in a way that the standard straight lines don't.  I'm looking for originality and the yokos are a massive stick in the spokes on that front.

Phoned longstone. They can't help.  Neither can anybody else.  So I have to choose between either Nankang or Yokohama.

Fair enough. I’m all for originality, but I’ve had them on my mk1 since 2003 and never looked back.

175/50 R13.  I think 165/55 would fit as I've seen some wheels on eBay with those size tyres... but according to the handbook those were not an original recommended size and it does not help the cause anyway as the availability in that size is the same.
