put an extra fuse box in .. see wired-by-wilson or check on google as it isn't difficult to add another.

Presumably, yellow wire is for the gauge ilumination so needs connecting to the 12V feed from the headlight switch?

Didn't bother mentioning that as OP said he might not bother with it ..

So to me it looks like there is a red-black circuit to perm live ... and I've no idea why you would want that on any accessory but must have some purpose .. and the white-green which effectively mimics the coil wiring and picks up the pulses as the coil works (white to ignition live and green to the distibutor).

Radios have a permanent live (to power the memory for your saved stations, time etc) and an ignition live to switch them on - maybe the chosen tacho has some function that requires a "memory"

Although the radio has a permanent live it doesnt save anything in the memory because I have a quick battery disconnect I use when not in the vehicle for security. Anyway I wired it up to the feed from the radio and it is working so far as is the radio with no smell of burning or smoke!!!. Hopefully the inline fuses will blow first. Fingers crossed.
Will look into fitting another fusebox.
