I am looking for a new spray gun HVLP with a 1.3 nozzle nothing to expensive as I only use it a couple of times a year. Can anyone recommend a good spray gun, possibly £100 or less.

A Devilbiss SLG 610 is a nice solid gun from a good company with parts backup.

I use a Devilbiss GTI that’s a higher quality gun you might be able to find second hand for a little over £100.

You most likely don't actually want a 'HVLP" but actually a LVLP or LVMP or anything but a HVLP. HVLP gets overused as a marketing term due to it being a legal requirement in the USA due to emissions.

i have a couple of these in various nozzle sizes, for the money they are an excellent spray gun, and unless you are professionally trained in a spray booth enviroment this will be a great choice at a good price,

HVLP uses more air and reduces paint consumption but isn't as good of a finish. The biggest issue for people without industrial sized compressors is the air consumption. The first site I found for an air consumption comparison shows this:

Devilbiss FLG-5
280 lpm [10 cfm]

Devilbiss GTI-Pro Lite (HVLP)
460 lpm [16.3 cfm]

Devilbiss GTI-Pro Lite TE10 (non-HVLP)
275 lpm [9.8 cfm]

Devilbiss DV1
400 lpm [14.1 cfm]

Satajet 5500 (HVLP)
430 lpm [15.2 cfm]

Satajet 5500 RP (non-HVLP)
285 lpm [10.0 cfm)

Iwata W400
380 lpm [13.4 cfm]

Notice how the HVLP versions use about 16cfm whereas the other types use about 10cfm.

Here is a short description of three types.

I'd go for a "RP" gun "reduced pressure". It's the best for smaller home compressors.

Thanks for all the good information, I will now have a look and see what’s available for £100 or less.
