I've looked at some pinned posts but couldn't find quite what I was after, with my specific issues. Any help would be much appreciated please!
My 1995 SPi won't start cold. My MEMS diagnostics cable says there's a coolant temperature sensor fault. I can't clear it. I had the pleasant job of replacing the sensor at the weekend, but that hasn't worked either. The diagnostics cable shows a fixed 59 deg reading with a fault present - I wonder if this might help narrow down where the fault is?
The engine primes and turns over, just doesn't start. At the risk of killing my battery, I eventually got it to start, and it was perfect after that. Running beautifully and starting first time
The only thing I can think of is:
- damaged cable from sensor to ECU
- I found one of those resistor cables to the coolant temperature sensor
- ceramic heater on the inlet manifold
Any other thoughts please?
Thank you,
Matt
