Hi everyone :)

Please would someone be able to describe the process the fuel system should go though on normal day before and after starting?

We are currently seeing the following:

  • Key is turned to position 1: Nothing (as expected).
  • Key is turned to position 2: Fuel pump springs to life and runs constantly.
  • Key is turned to crank: I believe the pump is still runs. Engine cranks but does not start (that's a story for another time).
  • Key is returned to position 2: Fuel pump continues to run.

Once the key was at position 2, I would have expected to the fuel pump to cut out after a short amount of time but it seems to run constantly.

Please would someone be able to confirm.

Thank you :)
I wonder why it keeps running in our car.

Would you happen to know what triggers the pump to switch off after it's primed? Is it purely a time based operation, or is there something monitoring the fuel pressure?

Read this thread:https://www.theminif...-functionality/

Possibly the points for the fuelpump are melted together.
