Blue Smoke From Engine Bay

Some smoke from near engine bay not sure what can be causing it. oil is new and it at the max on dipstick . the mini actually stalls from time to time . i am not sure what it can be. any ideas

Blue smoke Is usually burning oil. Perhaps it has been over-filled, or perhaps some oil has spilled down onto the exhaust while it was being filled up. Have a look around the engine for signs of a leak whilst the engine is running. Be sure to wear appropriate safety gear when doing so. Perhaps you could show us some clear  photos of your engine bay, we may be able to spot something obvious. Are you working on this car yourself?

 

The stalling is likely to be a Seperate issue, however there is a chance it could be down to a bad earth cable, if it's bad enough it can cause heat, and smoke.
