Hands up if you had bad earth in the broken mini sweepstake?

I snuck off work early and spent the afternoon working through cleaning and checking all the connections and I'm pretty sure it was the boot earth. Ironically it's the one that I thought was nice and clean and had a good connection.

It's starting brilliantly now so thanks to everyone that replied.

Have to admit to "cheating" a bit here - had the EXACT same experience less than a fortnight ago (with the suggested root cause being the fix in my case)

So glad you sorted the problem, thanks for letting us know you cured it, so many people never reply to let us know the problem is resolved.
