Hi all.

I'm new to mini's although I did learn to drive in a pickup back in 1987 and had a MG Metro with a flowed head, K&N and LCB in 1990 which went as well as my mates Metro Turbo. I am more of a Rover V8 man really.

I have a current wreck of a 1988 planned for a total rebuild starting later this year.

I also have a Aldon 1380 A series that was built in around 1988/89 and has never run planned for it (has been sat in an unfinished kitcar for 30 years in a heated garage). It currently has a Piper 285 cam and 45 DCOE which will be coming out/off as I want a predominantly road car (these will be up for sale if anyone is interested - both are obviously brand new and never turned a beat or had fuel in).

Aiming for around 85-90 BHP so looking at several cam options - AC's RS, SW5, Evo2 but unsure at the moment as it has 1.5 rockers in as well plus an Aldon dizzy but unknown curve (guy couldn't remember).

I will be asking lots of tech questions before I start on the engine :-)

Aldon are no fools, so I'd go and talk to them before you start on the engine.
