Hi all,

Was about to start cleaning up the radiator of the mini I'm restoring and noticed the top pipe missing.

Am I right in thinking this has sheared off? I've tried to cross reference to images online and cant find anything the same.

If so, is this common? and is it fixable? or is it a new unit needed?

Cheers!

The solder holding the top pipe in place appears to have rotted away.  Just replace the rad, much cheaper than trying to repair it, even if you could find the missing tube.  Apart ffrom which if one area of solder has gone, what might the rest be like.

I believe the pipe you are "missing", is soldered on to the RAD head... whether it is worth getting that done or not I am not sure, but if the RAD is of an unknown "usability" I would just buy a new one.

Thanks both. Thats the advice I was expecting so I appreciate the confirmation. I'll look at getting a new one.
