My name is Martin, and I have a 1982, Austin Mini HL 1000. I look forward to being able to learn from other's experienced, as I'm not a great mechanic, but willing to learn, and have a go. Electrics do my head though in ha ha 1982 Mini, ballast coil, or none ballast coil, confused as...! (there is no pink wire, (2 x blk &wht, the other terminal has one wire, pure white, maybe it is white/yellow) so Standard coil, which is non ballast right?) I had advice that it is standard, but I've since read too much. Simple advice would be appreciated please, as I've tied myself up in knots over this! Thanks.
Just Arrived! Keen To Learn And Enjoy My Mini Hl1000.

Hi Martin, welcome to TMF, electrics are not to difficult as long as you have the wiring diagram as found in the Haynes workshop manual, take your time and get yourself a multi meter a essential piece of kit when doing any electrical work on your car. if you are not sure of anything please ask on this forum .
