I spent about over an hour scraping old paint off a diff side cover, sanding it smooth to make it nice for paint. It then spent the last few years coated in oil and dirt and completely out of sight…

Guilty as well... I used those poly wheel coloured grit jobbies for dremels and did everything that was aluminium, things like gearbox/flywheel housing/diff covers/gear linkage/starter motor/carbs/steering wheel/wheels ect. And then had to do the exhaust and finished them all with a buffing wheel on a corded drill.

It does get out of hand but once you restore one component to a high level, all the others then have to be to the same standard! Either that or it's OCD.

there definitely will be when I get round to it lol that pair I have need a serious overhaul and I know I won't be able to stop at 'pretty clean' it will have to be 'mirror finish'

 

one I really liked though was whoever it was that painted them to look like lego man heads, that was class
