Happy New Year All. I have a 78 Mini 1000 with a chrome exhaust header. (came in the box of parts with the car) Do I need to protect the firewall's new paint from the heat of the exhaust header.

Thanks in advance to your solutions and experience.

if there was any protecting to be done I'd probably do it by wrapping the exhaust itself, supposed to make it more efficient ?  bit more power supposedly, personally I think it's a better look as well for whatever that's worth

Would not wrap any exhaust. Seen too many wrapped fail. Ceramic coating though? Not seen enough of them. And the cost….
