If you hate printers, buy a HP one for your next.

I suggest this because I found them to be THE worse printer on Earth.

At the very least, every other printer you own after that, you'll like or better !

HP are terrible (I refuse to get involved with their laptops as well when someone brings them to me looking stressed lol)  but beware also the scourge of the Brother machine

to be honest actually regardless of make I find the absolute worst are the ones that are trying to also be scanners/photocopiers

partly because when little bits of paper get torn off and stuck in there (and that 100% will happen if it's a Brother) it's harder to get at the little pieces

also their paper trays are flimsy horrid pieces of junk

historically I've had best most reliable results with Canon and Epson, but my current is an A4 laser Samsung and that's done me fine for the odd random thing when needed

we have an A0 Canon at work and that thing is awesome for wiring diagrams and floor layouts but then you're talking nearly a couple of grand, maintenance cover and a long warrantee, the inks alone would bankrupt me

on the subject of laptops my missus bless her is a bit clueless with tech, bought a quick easy cheap laptop.. so yeah you're not expecting miracles

but, selling a machine with literally not enough RAM to run the operating system it's supplied with is just criminal.  straight out the box, 10mins to boot up if you're lucky and task manager showing permanent 100% RAM useage and eating into the VM without even a single app running.

stuck another stick in there for her and now it's actually useable.  would be even better with an SSD but whatever it works well enough for her.  personally I'd throw the thing out the window purely because it's got windows 11 on it

Printers are universally hated, I don't think anyone likes them. Not complaining that I didn't get the job installing them.
