For some unknown reason this has happened.
Shut the drivers door and the handle is stuck the button has stuck in and the door will not open.
The ironic thing is the passenger side all by magic has done exactly the same thing at the same time is that just bad luck? I can't get into the car any ideas? Car is unlocked as its in my garage thanks all

Piccies?
The buttons aren't attached, so if they're stuck it can only be the buttons themselves.

button just presses on a plate on the latch so don't see how that can stick, can you pull button back out with a cloth on it and some pliers?

Maybe change the temperature around the button. Hair dryer or similar. This will possibly assist in the mechanism freeing off.
Seams a strange one that both did this at the same time.

Is there a screw/bolt that screws into the button to provide adjustment?Long time since I looked. The screw head can wedge behind the lever plate.Tricky to open from outside if this has happened.Steve..
This would be my bet too, have had it a couple of times whilst reassembling the doors of my restoration. Either that or the spring end has popped though the washer that retains it. As mentioned this is difficult to resolve if you can't get to the back of the door. Maybe remove the bottom weather seal from the window and go in with something flat to try and free the offending item car thief style.

Both handles are new as the car has just been built.
Got me thinking it's cheap Chinese type handle quality and the above is correct!
Next port of call.
What's the easiest way to get into the car with non working handles is it a hammer?

Have you tried a hot glue gun on the thumb button. Least that was the glue could be heated up and remove all traces...
Also a method of removing the weather strip and pulling the door release bar. Sure google will give you references for where and what bars to pull...

I don't think the key should turn with the button held in.
Without the waist seal you might get a look at what's going on. It may be possible to assist the button in returning from the inside, if you can get something between it & the latch to lever it.
Could it be the fit of the doors putting too much load on the latch for it to release? Maybe they've dropped or new doors seals, try lifting and/ or pushing on the doors.

The local mini hero has saved me.
We figured the handle was broken anyway so we drilled the push button in the center got on to the plate behind and got straight in.
Thanks all
