I have a recently rebuilt 1293, with Hif44, 1.5 rockers, and bigger valve (35mm/29mm) head. I have an RC40 exhaust and am looking to upgrade the manifold to a Maniflow.
Would I benefit at all from this Maniflow "Stage 2" LCB, or is the standard best? It's a £30 difference between the two.
Thanks,
Joe

Big is not always better.
what power are you expecting?
too big and you will be losing power as the gas velocity drops.

The larger bore one will work best at higher revs as only then will the exhaust gas velocity be correct.
It depends on how you intend to use the car. If it's for lots of high revs driving with maximum acceleration and you will regularly be needing to use, say, 6500 rpm, then a large bore will be better.
For using a rev range of 2500 to 5500, the smaller bore system will give best results.
As Nick says, it's a matter of optimum exhaust gas velocity. The big-bore system is intended for racing/rallying rather than for the road.
