So today’s question. Just fitted an Aldon distributor - previously an old A+ electronic one. I’ve just noticed it must be ballast wiring as it’s 9v. I’m presuming it should be 12v ?

Also the 3ohm coil has dies after 20 miles (also new)

The electronic module in the distributor normally needs 12v, although Aldon should have an instruction sheet

The coil itself needs to be a matched system for the voltage and coil

1.5 ohm coil + ballast wire

3.0 ohm coil and 12v

Some electronic ones with variable dwell can run a 1.5 ohm coil with 12v, but best to check with Aldon to see if this will work for you
