Hi folks

Does anyone have a link to a good quality original spec fuse box?

This is from Minispares. I have used one and looks the same as the original.

I found even in the originals, the fingers that hold he fuses in place don't have a lot of pressure on the fuse and the later ones even worse. This makes for a high resistance connection here that gets warm, making matters worse, then they get hot and nothing works.

Unless you're doing a period restoration, I'd suggest considering going to a different fuse box. I find the Blade Fuses good and have converted most of my cars to that.

There still are some "genuine" Lucas 2 fuse boxes advertised on a well known search engine.

Probably the quality will not be as was, as nothing is, but they are "Lucas" and not a spurious make.

I may just be lucky but I have never had a problem with the glass fuses or holders, I do check nd rotate them regularly to keep clean.

also apply petroleum jelly to end of fuse and connections behind fuse box. helps stop corrosion

Great idea, I will do!

As an update I have diagnosed it as a poor connection...

The car would intermittently have no indicators, no horn and no heater lol, I just removed and refitted the fuse (was still good).

I have a new one ordered from Minimine via Ebay so I'll wait and see 😁

Cheers for the advice lads

regularly had these intermittant faults and spinning fuses cured it a good idea to do ones behind air filter and bullet connectors behind grill too
