In my re-build I've just got round to putting fuel in the tank and trying the pump.

Sadly the pump runs but  no fuel passing towards the carbs. I've disconnected

fuel hose at carbs and tried a vacuum pump but to no avail, just a dribble. Polarity has been changed to -ve earth. Would I need to change wires on the pump?. Any ideas?

Where have you located the Pump and have you checked the output at the pump itself ?

The orientation of these pumps can also be important too, the outlet should be higher (or uppermost is best) than the inlet.

The pump is at the rear just behind the left hand tank and the outlet is topmost. I haven't checked it immediately at the pump.

I'd also suggest checking the flow of fuel from the tank in to the Pump.

Sounds like the pump is oriented OK.

Are there any filters installed other than in the pump?
