I have a 1990 mini 30 currently on 12x4.5 wheels with an ET35 offset in 145 70 R12 tyres.

I want to get 12x5 revolution wheels with 165 60 R12 tyres BUT they have an ET16 offset, so will they still fit?

I don't want to have to cut any of the bodywork. I'm certain they will clear the suspension on the inside due to the smaller offset but not sure if they will stick out beyond the normal plastic arches?

Has anyone fitted 12x5 wheels with an ET14 or 16 offset to a mini with standard rover plastic arches and did they fit ok? Any pictures would be great, many thanks

Comparing:
4.5” with 35 offset
5” with 16 offset

The 5” wheels will stick out an extra 25mm on each side

Do you think 12x5 ET16 revolution alloys would poke out beyond the standard arches? Anyone that has a set of 12x5 revolutions that has a picture of could let me know if they fit under standard arches that would be brilliant πŸ‘

I have a set of the Minispares C-21A1021 12” wheels which are ET14, so 2mm further out than the Revolution wheels. With the standard plastic arches fitted they stand very slightly proud but not so that it’s a problem

Hope this helps.

It certainly does help I'm pretty certain they will fit now thanks! Do you by chance have a photo directly looking down the side that shows how much they stick out?

Unfortunately not, the car’s now in the middle of a mega rebuild!
