I’ve never planned to own a Mini but as I was trying to sell an old beat-up BMW, someone asked if I’d like to swap so…:

my name is Lionel and I now own a 1980 British Leyland Mini 1100 Special. And loving it !

it’s 5 different shades of gold (Sienna? Cashmere?), the wheels point in 4 different directions, gear changes are random, won’t go over 80kph, does not brake… but it is great fun.

It’s pretty banged-up but mostly rust-free, I think it needs 20 years worth of basic maintenance.
So far, I’ve replaced all 4 tires, the upper engine stabilizer brackets that were torn off the bulkhead and a few other bits and bobs.

it came with a thousand euros worth of parts (mostly chromes/cosmetics) and I’m now collecting parts to restore and upgrade it.

so yeah, hello from France!

Welcome to TMF, that mini doesn't seem to bad, you should have a very tidy mini with a couple of weekend's work !Great to have another mini enthusiastic member on board.
