Hi, The next job on the list, is fitting the A pillar stiffeners, before fitting the inner wings.

By holding the panel against the A pillar, it seem to have a 'natural' location, but as this panel, and the A pillar, we're not present when I got the car, I'm not sure how critical the positioning is.

I can see it has holes for the door hinges - do I need to attempt to fit the door, get the gaps correct, and use this as a guide or can I assume any tweaking of the door hinges, can we done by fettling the holes, at a later stage?

Chris, i would try and install the door and gap as much as you can although this will be difficult but doable i feel.

Yes the stiffener does sit quite naturally within the A post but as you say you had nothing to go with to start with makes things somewhat more difficult.
