Does anyone know what the offset on original D1's is? Been looking but can't find the numbers. I know the modern JBW copies are 25mm, are they the same?

They were designed for drum braked cars, so needed arches to run on a Cooper S.
+17 or +19 are the figures that come to mind, but I've nothing to base that on other than a hazy memory!

Fitting a 5x10 wheel to a drum braked mini with no arches mean they need to be in the 15-20 offset range as mentioned by Graeme.
One strange thing to note about the original Dunlop LP922 alloys is the bead profile is "C". Most normal passenger cars are "J" and some other mini wheels are "B" profile.

Perhaps I should have mentioned I'm using the standard 8.4 disc set up and the D1s I have fit nicely. But they're dated as 1969 and are starting to show their age. I'm thinking of a new set of shiny wheels hence the question.

Ah! 12" D1s then.
I'd assumed you were asking about 10" - I don't think the 12" were meant for the Mini back in '69.
Are the ones you have 5" or 4.5"?
If 5" they are probably Hillman Imp wheels, if 4.5" they are probably Austin/Morris 1100/1300.
If you have the wheels can't you measure the offset?

Doh, didn't mention 12"X5" vital statistics. We had a go at measuring the offset but 8mm seems a little low. Maybe?Ah! 12" D1s then.

Seems exremely low unless you have wheel spats. Measuring method here.
