Hello everyone and thanks in advance for any help given, 

 

Our little mini is fitted with 1275 metro engine and twin HS2 carbs, but has had a problem with hunting and I finally traced the the cause to a cracked inlet manifold.

not a problem I thought I've got a spare, and binned the cracked one .I came to fit the carbs ,heat shield etc but the carbs hit the bulkhead  I am guessing that the angles where the carbs bolt on are a different angle to my original one, I've looked at many on the net but I'm just guessing as the pictures are not that good and some don't seem to have the groove for the rings to sit in .

Is there an after market one that will do the job or a part number for me to chase and is the ring that fits in the groove necessary? thanks for any thoughts and advice given Andy

Your old ones would have been Mini. Your “new” ones will be for an inline engine.

 

maniflow do some steel ones or look for a set of good used.

The ring grooves for the inlet manifold and head are needed on the old manifolds as they don't have locating lugs where the studs are to locate them.

 

I'd think all new manifolds have the lugs now, so they are centred on the studs and don't need the rings (picture is of a B series manifold, but same idea)

Thanks for the replies , I ended up going with a new one from Mini Spares due to price and delivery. it all fits, its tight ,very tight but all is well all the best Andy
