I have brought a 1275 spi engine to fit in my mini, swapping out the a series 998 engine.
we are putting to cab on the 1275 , I need to change the dizzy as I plan to use the old loom that’s in the car, would an Aldon one work?
I’m looking to rebore the engine out in time and do other mods, but would one of these work on the standard engine to start with?
Also vac or non vac?
Thanks Dean

You can use the 65dm4 electronic dizzy with an appropriate coil. Think it was the standard dizzy for '90's 1275 carb engines. If there are engine mods done to the 1275 then have the dizzy recurved by AC Dodd.

also bear in mind there is no temp. sensor take off port on the head, spi is from inlet manifold so will need to sort that

You can buy thermostat sandwich plate with temp. sensor takeoff.

Can't tell if the loom is right without knowing the age of the car, and aftermarket distributors will almost certainly need wiring mods anyway.

Given that you want something to get going with and likely modify the engine down the track, this will be fine;-

I've bought and fitted many of these distributors from the Mini Spares range and found them quite good.

Personally I'd buy a 65D and get it rebuilt and recurved to suit by AC Dodd

The hole can be drilled and tapped and then an adaptor with the correct seat installed. The head will also need the heater take off drilled.
