I have an ~early 90s mini with an A+ 1275 engine.  It has had a 123ignition distributor since I got it.  I thought these allowed you to select between a number of preprogrammed ignition maps. However I can't find the selector on mine.  In all of the photos and documentation I've seen it's under an allen plug on the side.   Are there some that come with only one map and are not adjustable?  I don't see any like that for mini listed on 123ignition's website.

The only markings I see on it are "MINI >>--->18-05-12"  and "123ignition.nl  -BOB=BLACK +6/+12v=RED"

Here are photos of it:

The third photo shows what looks like an allen plug going into the unit - might be worth having a look at what's behind it.

Alternatively, email 123ignition.com a photo and ask them

I had an older 123 and the adjustment was under the allen plug

From dim memories, take off the cap and in the plate there is a hole , you put small phillips head screwdriver in to adjust. Clicks are quite easily felt BUT  i start 'backing it off' to program 1 and click/count onwards.  The memory includes taking for a run, turning off, open bonnet, remove dizzy cap, refit and off again, etc .  It is easier to feel differences in the different groups first - So start at 1 then change to 5 if better change to 9 if better change to 13.  The early dizzy maps were a bit 'retarded' - probably the first 8 were too slow and too late in coming on for my taste.  They did work well in the end, but reinforced my thought that a dizzy only needs one curve - but it needs to be the correct one.

Thanks for the tips.  I did email123Ignition and they got back to me saying that the plug is on the bottom of the unit on older units like mine.  It looks like I'll have to remove the distributor to make a change.  Pretty annoying since the the process is one of trial and error with trying the different maps.

@Earwax thanks for the tips on setting it.
