Hi all, I have a 1100 special in original grey for sale. It’s road tax, MOT and ULEZ exempt so running cost are kept to an absolute minimum. All bar a few spark plugs every now and then.
I bought this car from a McLaren engineer who does a lot of work on classic cars and minis especially. It was also advertised here. As he said, the car runs perfect and doesn’t require much. The front subframe, tonne of bushes, bearings were replaced and handles perfectly. The head was also rebuilt by him.
Since I’ve had it, I’ve replaced the battery with the biggest and powerful (starting amps) I could find and fitting an isolator. This way I could run it every other weekend seemlessly.
I’ve had to replace the fuel gauge and spark plugs after a long winter, but other than that everything is ok.
Me and the previous owner have spent a lot of money on this car. And I hope the new does the same. Around 42k kms.
The car is kept garaged at all times and is located in south east London near the o2.
