I was just wondering if the auto block is the same as the manual block, are these interchangeable , im under the impression i got was that they are but i am not 100 % sure.

No, auto blocks and manual blocks are different, the oil filter is blocked off on the auto block, but apparently they can be machined out. Not a lot of point tho' as manual blocks are more common that auto's
