Does anyone recognize where this gauge may have come from (before it was put in my '58 Landrover)

Similar to some of the gauges used in Triumph cars?

Hillman or Singer or Rootes are my guesses.

There's one for sale on Ebay at the moment.

The number in the top centre reads IP3201/48 and the seller states its from a Hillman super minx/Singer gazelle, although the item for sale is a water temp guage only.

So Nicklouse is correct!

Cheers, Steve.

I've advertised mine as Hillman now, thanks all.
