123. I fitted one on my 1380 carb. Easy to set up. Works perfectly. Choice of preset timing curves. You can get negative earth or positive earth for A series.

123 ignition, I have it now a couple of years on my Mini with 1293 stage 3 engine and happy with it.
Also I hear that the recurved ones from AC Dodd are really good.

I've fitted quite a few of the Distributors that Mini Spares offer. As a matter of course, I have tested every one before fitting and found their curves spot on. I feel they represent excellent value for money and are available in both points and electronic types.

I run CSI in a couple of the cars for over 12 years now. These have literally been through hell and high water. I have found these to be brilliant and the curves in them well suited to the A series engine. Caps and Rotors are commonly available Lucas types so easy to come by.

Another vote for AC Dodd recurved distributor.

Personally I'd suggest getting AC to come and optimise the fuelling of your engine too. Very very worth while.

But a few basic checks are plug gaps, plug lead resistance and coil Resistance.

Thanks for all the replies. It's a twin hs2 ac Dodd needs a afr gauge fitted which I haven't got. Dizzy fitted at moment is a 25d with ported vuccum with accuspark electric fitted plugs set at 35. I do like the the twist tune d23 none vuccum. Engine has the 11 stud 940 large valve head. Would swifttune csi 23d work OK?

Unless you have a high power ignition system & 0.8 ohm coil your plug gaps will be too big. Most minis should have 25 thou gaps

What's wrong with your current setup and why do you want to change?

It is a higher spark module by accuspark. Car does runs well
But 25D original distributor is old not knowing if it has the best advantage curve. Swifttune csi might bring out performance that could be missing. It is a gamble I agree .

Get a proper timing light and measure your current advance curve & check the vacuum advance is functional. That’s the only way to know what your distributor is doing now. If it has a decent curve & minimal scatter you won’t see much if any improvement with a new distributor

What coil do you have at the moment? How many ohms is it rated at?

Which Accuspark kit did you get? I couldn’t see that they made high energy versions
