Have a problem the lower of the 2 fuses in my fuse box keeps blowing.  It runs wiper motor indicators brake lights temp and fuel gauge etc.  I disconnected wiper motor and came home with no issues.  The wipers were not on when fuse went.  Can a faulty motor cause this even when not on or do I have a wiring fault.  I live in Lincolnshire is there a very good auto electrician in my area that can help.  Thanks

May depend on the type of motor. I think the new round motors have a permanent live feed so a short can and will blow the fuse.

Any auto parking motor will have an ignition live feed to the park switch.

When the park switch disconnects the live feed it also earths the motor to stop it dead, preventing it from running past the park switch & setting itself going again.

...it's a likely place to get a fuse blowing short.

My motor is old and the body is a square shape with single speed and no park switch

if you disconnected the wiper mototr and there was no fault you have prob. found the fault you can check easily enough on the plug with a test lamp to find a constant live

Think found problem.  Split pin on clutch clevis pin on housing was sticking into brake light switch that is in the brake pipe , works on pressure not electric.  This I presume causing straight to earth.  Will try a few days and see how it goes.  Thanks for all input
