Hello

 

I just found this old brochure on which you can see a normal Mini but with headlamp wipers.

 

Anybody knows if these were factory fitted or aftermarket ? 

 

The picture looks pretty "official" but I never saw these wipers on Mini.

I did a search for all the 1970's brochures I could find and I couldn't see any other minis with these extra wipers. For most of the 70's the round nose mini was the entry level in the range, and the better equipped minis were all Clubman front minis. 

 

I can only guess it was to meet a particular local requirement about headlight wipers that might have only been for one country.

I have seen cars with this solution of headlamp wipers most likely sold in Sweden, don't know which model years but I guess somewhere between 73-78. Later (I know of three cars with model year 79, sold in Sweden) there was another solution with wipers fixed in the fenders in-between headlamp and side indicator, driven by the washer pump. At that time it was modifications done by the local dealer to fulfill local regulations.

The Info caption on the photo says 1975 Mini 1000 and the country is SE which is Sweden.

Never factory fitted. But may have been fitted by the importers.

Might have dreamt it, but I think there was something along the same lines in the special tuning catalogue. No motor in the middle, some sort of circular track affair.

Works for me, Win10 Chrome. Very similar to the Fiat twin headlight piccy.
