I wonder if the bore centres are the same as original, or if they have eased them apart.

I was thinking exactly the same. Being able to get a 1380 but have more meatI wonder if the bore centres are the same as original, or if they have eased them apart.

this is probably a really stupid question but don't they have to line up with the crank journals though? can you just move them a bit left and right and it still works ?

I suppose that could depend on MS wanting them to be usable for historic racing or not?

There`s a decent bit of wiggle room on the Gudgeon pins ( wrist pins ) to compensate for offset bores so it wouldn`t be a problem.
The crank journals stay exactly the same as only the pistons are moved across.

848 rods are offset because the bores are not over the crank pins. When I bored an 848 out to 68.25MM, I moved the bores sideways and used S rods.
It wouldn't be much, a couple of MM for bore 2 & 3, and maybe 4MM for 1 & 4. There is a bit of movement along the gudgeon pin and you could shave one side of the little end.

Wasn't there talk of making them for one of the super sexy billet cranks? I might've dreamt that.
The money will be in motorsport, so they're likely made to comply with any class regulations

The blocks are Appendix K compliant, have they added a bit of meat here and there? Yup they certainly have, I'm off to HQ on Saturday so I'll have a look at the price but I seem to remember they said around 2K when I asked before.

That would be extremely reasonable.
I actually have a spare thick-flange 'S' block, crank and rods which I keep as spares for my 'S'. However, if new blocks are available, I may rebuild my spares into a complete engine and sell it. I also have a 3-syncro gearbox casing which could be rebuilt and included. Now there's an idea!
