Hello,

 

While working on my mini I found a lot of weird open small gaps and imperfection (check photos below) do you have any suggestions how should I solve them? Paint is in really good condition don't want to ruin it, yet these gaps seem like a perfect place for standing water and rust development

 

what product would you recommend? some of these places are in visible places as well...

The best idea would be to de- grease as carefully as possible, making sure you get into the open seams. Then force grey or white seam sealer into the joints and finish off by painting with a reasonably fine paintbrush. Any decent bodyshop suppliers will have degreaser and sealer, they should be able to supply a small quantity of matched paint as well. 

 

Just in case I wasn't clear I mean solvent degreaser, and Not water wash degreaser.

What you are looking at are, unfortunately, repairs done to a fairly low cosmetic standard and the seams/joins not closed up or sealed correctly before being painted over. What crossthread suggests above is about the only way to deal with this short of removing all the paint in effected areas, finishing it all off properly and then re-spraying.

a lot of those are edges where they would be covered up anyway like the seam trim and window seals

 

in those cases I'd probably just dry it out, maybe a dab of kurust in there with a really small brush, hold a bit of rag underneath protect the paint.. and then smear in literally a fingertip smear of clear sealant and put the seal / trim back on

 

the wider gaps especially the big one on the end of the rear valance I'd be tempted to also get a thick rag and use that to protect the paint while carefully squeezing them shut a bit with pliers or a small G clamp or something.  but I'd be gentle if you start hearing crunchy noises just leave it .  obviously some filler and a dab of paint there as well
