1100 To 1275 Conversion. Can It Be Done?

Don’t forget this is a short stroke 1275 not a long stroke 998.

 

Yeap, totally.

The point of my post was a comparison between very similar engines with changes in stroke.

ie, the 1275 can be looked at as a long stock SA1100 or 1071. Likewise, the 1098 can be looked at as a long stroke 998 :D

And the main point is if you assume the distributor “should be ok” and you’ve got way too much (or too little) advance it will cause major issues

This is the result of putting a 998 distributor in to a 1098;-

Right in the normal cruising zone, it was very retarded.
