I'm thinking about fitting new shock absorbers (lowered). Which one do you think is better? Sensations, Soft/hard.

Thanks in advance!

Are you after comfort or all out road holding ?

If you don`t push the limits of your car and would like a comfortable ride just fit a set of standard Kayaba shocks.

A fully adjustable unit gives you everything and although not what you asked for Protech shocks are probably the best out there.

spax?

I've always had Spax, but to be honest, I prefer the Protecs that I replaced them with.

Konis are hard to adjust, especially on the rear of a Mini as they have to be removed.
I have used both Spax and Gaz on Mini rally cars with excellent results. Both makes have taken rough tracks at high speeds without any problems.

I did have Spax on two cars but they both squeak which is very noticeable inside the car when rolling down the road, okay on a competition car but irritating on a road car as it sounds like rusty bed springs to the point I removed them from the road car and fitted KYB Gas-A-Just followed by Protech .

The Gas-A-Just were actually very good on the road but when pushed really hard they weren't quite up to the job compared to the Spax but on a sensibly driven road car they`re fine.

My Spax dampers squeaked too, that was the primary reason for changing them.
Protec have a very positive adjustment, although there are only about half the number of 'clicks' available compared to the Spax.

But when you talk about Protech Shocks, which ones are you referring to, with or without spring?

What am I looking for? Well, a little more comfort and avoiding swaying in curves, that is, making it firmer. Is there something like that?

the ones with springs aren't just shocks are they, they're coilovers

which you don't need or want as has been discussed recently https://www.theminif...and-suspension/

I'd call the guys at Protech, the best customer service you'll get.

I had Gaz in my last mini-I liked them a lot
Have Spax on my current 1330, and had them on lots of other minis, very happy with those also

Cheers Stuart! I've read all the hilo. What seems increíble that no one like the coilovers, I mean ...the spring ones. My rubber cones are from MiniSport desing by Moulton, and I installed It in 2010. I don't fit new ones at the moment. For me it was a hard job. So...if I buy something, Will be a Protech or GAZ dampers. Lowered ones.
