Ok so managed to get the top arms out
The trumpet is jammed and stuck to the cone and it wont come out in 1 piece. Any ideas to seperate cone from trumpet?
Tried lubing, hitting with hammer etc
keep smacking it until it comes off.. or look on ebay and find a set of trumpets cheap with cones removed already.. or throw them away, buy hilos and upgrade to adjustable suspension
I gave up on the first option, bought some, then got hi-los as well which means I'm left with a set of trumpets I'm not going to use, all cleaned up and cold galv'ed
if anyone wants them they can have them for say £20 the set? https://www.theminif...-998/?p=3754049 collection only from dagenham

Yeah, I've a couple too that I was going to offer, but your location changes things a bit. You can come collect them for free if you want
When you're hitting it, is the cone loose in the subframe? If so, maybe bolt it back in to the tower then try pull the trumpet out of the car by wrapping a rope around the lower part of it. This might need the upper arm removing for the knuckle joint to clear. Just read again, you have the top arms out already.

Blow torch, and then more bashing. Do this outside as the rubber will probably catch fire a bit (and the glue has cyanide in it :) Then you will be left with the metal dome from inside the rubber part stuck over the end of the trumpet. Weld a bit of square tube onto that so you have something to bash and that will come off easily. This way you can save the trumpet (while destroying basically everything else but you're replacing all that anyway).

Have you managed to separate the ball joint from the trumpet ?
If all three items are solidly attached to each other, replacing all three is your simplest solution.

once i got the arms out I got the entire 3 piece (cone trumpet knuckle) out of the subframe in one go. simply pulled the trumpet with the cone attached towards 90 degrees as far as it goes. then i put a thin rod through the top mounting hole in the engine bay and pushed it through the cone and simply hit it with a hammer to get it to come out of the subframe
tried for a hour to get the cones to free from the trumpet but wouldn't budge. put it in a vice, hammered it, heated it. wont budge. luckily I had another set and those cones came out in 5 mins and were in mint condition so will use those instead.
I'm finishing this first mini keeping it relatively original and stock. I have another mini which I will be doing a full nut and bolt resto so have all the parts ready like hilos etc. cant wait to get onto that one.

on a side note is it worth reusing cones? I have an original dunlop moulton pair that seem really good. about 85mm in height. compare that to a pair of new fam3968 cones they are about 90mm and the red dot cones new are 85mm. I've put them all side by side to compare. can upload a pic of all three if that'll help

Where do you live ?
I ask, because when you have done them, I have about a dozen that need doing

Use the Moultons on this car, that you are trying to keep close to original. If you think it will be a bit low, fit a washer under the trumpet.
Even really compressed Moultons, are valued for racing Minis.

Rubber gets hard with age. Those will be quite hard by now, you may not like the ride they give.
